I wonder if the N64 has to be modded to work with the SN / Psyq cards (to enable debugging)? Perhaps its the same mod the Partner N requires? Thing is I don't own any of the two systems so I don't know :/ kammedo
No, I can debug on mine with a retail N64. The documentation only specifics a regular retail model. The PsyQ debug stub is linked into the debug rom and it's a small program that runs in memory, letting you view RDRAM on the computer and set breakpoints in your code.
Sorry to go slightly off-topic, but talking about the SN cartridge, does anyone know what kind of PSU the thing needs? I have one laying around but never used it since it didn't come with a power supply.
Has to be 5 volt regulated, center tip positive. I've found that an iomega Zip 250 power supply works great, some of the newer linksys accessories (print servers, wireless repeaters) also supply 5v regulated. Make sure you test with a multimeter though. Some are 5v unregulated
What were the benefits of using the PsyQ? I d also like a list of the drawbacks if possible.. hey, sorry for the off topic, but how come girls never post on this side of the boards? Baffles me.
