    Hi guys,

can anyone confirm if the N64 mouse (NUS-017; released for the Mario Artist 64DD game) can actually be used with SimCity 2000 (i.e. not the 64DD version, SimCity 64)?

    Thanks a lot!

The N64 mouse will "work" with virtually any N64 title so long as you don't mind slow, nonconstant motion. Few titles bother to filter out the device type so they simply treat it as a normal controller.

Thanks for the reply! ...just realized that I didn't visit here for almost a year:rolleyes:

When I get my hands on a copy of the non-64DD SC2000 and a mouse, I'll share my experience here.

I have both of those things and can give it a try tonight when I get in.

Cool, I'd love to know if the mouse is useful for the non-64DD version of the game. Much appreciated :)

I have not forgotten. I had some stuff come up with work that I have been head first in. I hope to get to it this weekend and give you an update.

Thanks..., don't sweat it. I'm sure you'll get around checking the N64 stuff eventually. Cheers! :)

Cool, I'm interested in the results of this as well, never thought of using the mouse with SimCity 2000. I only have SimCity 64DD.

Just gave it a go and it sort of worked. The mouse movement actually feels great but there are not enough buttons and moving the mouse to controller port 2 does not work. I did make a video just to show how it looks, there is no talking because I did not want to make my wife think I have totally lost it and started talking to myself.

@akanigit: That's amazing, thank you very much for looking into this topic! The fact that the mouse will lack important functions (buttons) as compared to the controller never crossed my mind. Good to know.:)

No problem! If there are other games you guys can think of let me know. This has actually made me curious to see if some games had planned to use the mouse but after the DD bombed it wasn't advertised but the feature possibly hidden.

Sounds great! One game that comes to mind is "Wonder Project J2" since it uses a mouse-like curser function.
