    Hello There,
I recently purchased an Ultra SFX 64 Universal Game Adaptor V3 for my PAL system in the hope that I can play Ken Griffey Jr.'s Slugfest, among other things. Now, I know it works because it boots my PAL games with another PAL game in the back, but when I try to boot my NTSC copy of Slugfest the screen flickers for a second, as if it is going to run the game, but the the screen then remains blank. This also only occurs if I use my PAL copies of Smash Bros., Banjo Kazooie or Pokemon Snap in the back of the converter; all of my other PAL games can't even achieve the promising flickering of the screen.

I've even tried using a TV that has an NTSC system setting, but to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as to what I'm doing wrong here.
    Sincerely,
    Hamish

Buy the Universal Games Adaptor V4. It plays everything and is even better than the Passport III imo. It does even run the Wideboy on a PAL system.

I also have a passport III, but it's far from perfect. I've only tried it with one game though (Harvest Moon 64). Sometimes it doesn't work at all (won't boot), other times it works but with messed up video and once in a while it will boot with good video. I would certainly stay away from those adapters and just buy a NTSC N64 instead. Then just buy a universal wall plug adapter and you'll be set. You can even mod the NTSC N64 to output RGB and connect it with a superior scart input.

It just seems like such a waste to have an Ultra SFX 64 that appears to very nearly load Slugfest (I'm not kidding, it is literally one command, or something to that effect, away from loading).

If it helps, I also own a Game Booster with built in Action Replay V3. I have already tried the inbuilt key code for Slugfest, not to mention several other key codes I've found on the internet but Slugfest never starts when I swap the carts over. The nearest I got was putting the SFX (with Slugfest in it) on top of the Game Booster, and the Action Replay screen actually loaded! However, Slugfest still wouldn't start when I opted to start the game without any codes activated.

I personally recommend having a passport 3, I've ran all sorts though it....From mario Kart to Pokemon Stadium 2. All ran without hitch on my pal system.

    Hey that was my hint!
YES the V4 by Blaze is the best Universal Adaptor to play NTSC games on a PAL N64 (not vice versia). The only game that does not 100% work is Perfect Dark as it does not recognize the expansion pak :crying:

And I don´t think this runs your AGB Capture (btw, mine will be for sale soon). You surely wanted to say it runs your Wideboy AGB...

Given the cheapness of N64 systems, wouldn't it just be cheaper and easier just to buy a US/Jap N64 and play 100% of NTSC games? The cartridge port lock is easy to remove. I could happily sell you a NTSC N64 for about $10 plus postage.

That's what I did. I had a US/JP N64 and a PAL one as a kid (then i got a JPN one anyway again). N64s are cheap and durable, you can't go wrong.
