Seeing as nobody has postd this, figured I would Link to article About to test goldeneye and Castlevania!
Its pretty much as it says on the link. Still impressive though. Would be nice to have Castlevania 64 on the go.
This could end up being pretty nice. Although there are only a handful of games worthwhile (imo). Not that any of this means much to me personally, since I only have a ds right now. But maybe down the road...
The emu is cool but a bit on the slow side (specialy for a dynamic recompiler) & compatibility at the moment is really low. I hopefuly plan to get my n64 emu (Monkey64) out asap once i can fix my texture bugs.
Wowzers, that came outta the blue, at first i thought it was Subbie's emu....but wow... Might Just give it a go Ryan
Impressive to see, but why Castlevania 64? Wasn't it a pile of rubbish? There are plenty of other N64 games I'd prefer to see working. A Castlevania SotN conversion would be more like it!
I enjoy Castlevania 64 as a 3D action game, but not as a Castlevania game. It was a decent enough game, but very poor compared to the others. And to Subbie, I wish you the best of luck! I have been following monkey64 since I first heard of it. I'm glad I have this port to play with, but a PSP designed emulator is where the real fun is
Castlevania 64 got good once you got inside of the actual castle, thing is by that point you're already halfway through the game.
Theres a working ps1 emulator for the psp already, unfortunatly, it only works with the kxploit, 1.5 firmware and not the gta loader Ryan
If you are refering to PacManFans' emulator, I was under the impression that it wasn't properly released other than that tech demo part, and it couldn't really run much. I mean, I remember seeing shots of driver loading screens and spiderman loading screens, but I haven't heard much about it in a long time.
hmm im not sure, i've heard of one, i've seen the download, but i've never used it as im on 2.6 firmware(was 2.01) and cant run it with the gta hack Ryan
PacManFans emu is only a tech demo, and last I heard he went AWOL Sony are supposedly releasing a first party PS1 emu soon, so its coming one way or another
Surely it would make a lot more sense for somebody out there to get Nintendo 64 software running on the DS, or does Mario 64 and the possibility of other official "ports" render this concept obsolete? Considering the amount of legal issues preventing a new version of GoldenEye (which, in my opinion, was one of the main reasons to ever buy into the N64 along with Zelda and perhaps just a few others), maybe this might not be such a bad idea after all? Anyway, there's enough of a homebrew scene for the PSP to make this work... providing the system has the power to do the original games justice, that is - this always seems to be a problem with overambitious emulation projects!
