I wondering if I should get an N64, but there's only one literally console exclusive game I want to get for it, Mischief Makers, since I can play those big name Nintendo titles on my Wii. I've read about the region mod which requires one to take that plastic part and cut out the tabs, which leave the part with big holes. I wonder if anybody sells that part without the tabs for easily installation rather than having to bust out a dremel or hammer. With all the crap out there I'm surprised if there isn't.
I'm not sure what you are trying to do exactly. What region are you in and what region is the cartridge? The physical barrier is used on SNES and N64 to prevent using Japan and North American games/consoles together. The game you mentioned exists for the US too, so I don't understand the need for a region mod. If you have a PAL NTSC combination of console and cartridge you need something else to get it moving, and even then you could have PAL/NTSC compatibility problems. It'd be best to get a matched region set of game and console.
