Well, it could be many things, expectations not being the least of them. Let's see if we can help though. :)

You did the rgb mod? If so, did you do the amp mod?
Are you connecting the N^64 to the GBS8820 directly or are you using scart cables on the av port?
What are you connecting the GBS8820 to? LCD tv, crt monitor, lcd monitor?

I posted a guide, which covers everything you needed to do.

It looked alot better once I put the n64 completely back together. I did not do the amp circuit. I lifted the legs on the IC. The picture is sureley bright enough. What i did was take 2 of the multiout cables and busted both of them open. i took the pins out of the second cable and pluged them into the first multi out into the holes that corresponded with RGB.

The first 3 wires are obvious RGB. Then i hooked up the grey HS and Yellow VS to th composite yellow wire. I put the composite ground to the black ground on the board.

I had it hooked up to a lcd tv and lcd monitor.

Glad to see things are looking better. Is your N64 and NUS 003? Are you getting a sort of "screen door" effect? Kinda like criss cross hatching all over everything?

    I

Well, it's a little hard to tell exactly from your description but what I understand is that you spliced a couple of av cables, have them soldered to their corresponding points on the av out, and going into the gbs8820. That should be fine.

Are you connecting the n64 into the rgbs or VGA on the gbs8820?

If you are getting wavy lines, that may be the csync but I am not 100% on that. There is another thread that talks about this. If you are going via VGA, i think you can take it from pin 7 on the av out inline with a 75ohm resistor.

I have 99 spare 680k resistors if anyone need one for the sync stripper.
