If the leads are too long then even wiring directly to the pads still isn't too effective. What I was saying is that it helps to keep the decoupling capacitor on a separate net from the incoming, it's easiest to route the incoming net through the pad and decouple the other side.

The THS amp is an example of the right way to do things, it has the correct source termination to prevent reflection.

 

Because he is stuffing the RGB signal through a transcoder which isn't native RGB. I really don't think it'll show a massive difference but it's always worth testing additional setups just to see what does or doesn't change.

 

Interested in the eventual outcome of this project. I have a PAL N64 I'd like to give the RGB-treatment! Read: I'd be pretty keen to get one of these PCBs once finalised
