I'm a bit confuse about official n64 SDK.
does the official complete kit (5 CD ) contain any compiler (know as exeGCC for win) ??
or is it on another bundle ??

if yes (last question), then this iso is useless, isn't it?

perhaps, there is another compatible compiler, but i don't know any of them.

Nothing up there is listing GCC files.. 0Sv2 does contain a GCC patch but no workable GCC files... Once installed and running setup.bat from command line samples will not compile..

please tell us what is the path+filename of the gcc executable once installation is done!?

    thx

I'm pretty sure you can get a compiler and stuff via the PsyQ set. Just do a bit of searching, I'm sure you can find them around.

Edit: Actually, sadly, you probably need the original installer for OS2.0A or something, It seems that OS2.0K and OS2.0L, the versions I have access to, don't have any of the exe-GCC binaries, just patches for new features and stuff :/ (You could still use the PsyQ set, but it can't interface with the OS2.0 afaik..)

Edit 2 (Yes, I've been researching this): The compiler and such is in the Partner-N64 environment. I'll be working on getting that in the next few days (that is if the seller allows me to upload it) and then you'll have all you need to begin on N64 dev. I'll put up a "Set up a Partner64 development system" tutorial when I get it all set up on my laptop. (I don't have the hardware, just the software, so I'll kinda improvise that part from the readmes.)

Well, under irix(5.3), I just used this iso(it's been available for a very long time from other sources), and used the irix IDO(freely available from SGI; or at least was in the past). never used N64 SDK under windows, so can't help there.

Note, you can still use the SDK under irix w/o having the ultra64 board - you can still compile, etc. Just won't be able to play the resulting roms.

Lol nice bump, anyway, I've got compilers now. I have the Partner-N64 set, although I'm searching for CodeWarrior for various reasons as well.

Not sure, it uses MipsSE or soemthing exeGCC. I could just up the Partner tools :p I heard someone made their own toolchain for OS2.0K thouh, I'd have to look that up again...

A recent cross compiler set up for SGI machines on x86 Linux or BSD?
This would give a big performance boost because of a more complex optimizer stage.
