So I want to prevent any further damage to my N64 controller that still works very well and the two replacement sticks I bought. I see people talking about greasing the parts, but no one agrees on what type, silicone, lithium, ceramic... Has anyone had success with a certain type over a period of time that won't eat the plastic?
Damn I never thought of that. I use whatever I have in hand most of the time, the one I use for bearings or joints in the car.
All 3 should be fine but there are some white lithium greases that are petroleum based. You want to avoid those as petroleum can degrade plastic. I have read ultra lube white lithium grease is good and it is not petroleum based.
