I saw a mention of this in a thread, but not an actual dload. Sorry if I missed it. Credit to all involved in the release.
Thanks! Gonna give this a spin soon.... Note: be careful with the download link- Click on the writing at the top (where it says wildwaters...) do not at any point download the ilivid exe file... Also, the 'download' text is tiny - and it appears in the middle, sandwiched between the ads.
Thanks Jackhammer for the link share and thanks to arnoldlayne the ilivid manager tip, ilivid is becoming one of my pet hates on the web!
Yeah this is a very cool ROM, many thanks to Team Carrot. This game had really cool water, it's certainly alpha but very good stuff.
Not just an awesome little proto, but the way they coded the water is nifty. Little packets of vectors. So really the water consists of blobs ;*) The actual ROM ends at 0x800000. The display list that starts up there was from a previous flash. Sub's sound tool already has the values for dumping its soundbanks (they're identical sadly). Also, did a dump of the images found in the 'sd' block. No textures for the second unplayable course, and its data would have fallen at the end of the ROM. The crash occurs because it tries to treat those display lists as though they were pointers o.0 http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?yvpinr6dd993l8v
I own this prototype. And im glad people like it. Yes team carrot dumped it after a deal was made. And the deal was not about $$. I still have another unreleased game n64 game that will be dumped and 2 that are different from released versions. There is a more complete version out there. This is (i think) the E3 cartridge version that was displayed behind closed doors.
Just curious, I tried to run this on my xbox with the n64 emu (Surreal64 XXX CE) but I couldn't get any picture - just sound. Anyone managed to get this working on a modded xbox?
Hahaha thats the first problem i faced when i got the proto.Gues what? This game only works on my n64 with a expansion pack Yes i found this out after a lot of tries. This is 1 of the few n64 games that only work with the expansion pack. I wonder if somebody tried this with a everdrive or another n64 flash cart?
Zoinkity, pardon my ignorance, but do you use some app to visualize the rom as RGBA5551 and then search for images manually, or do you rely on images being in a certain file format and scan for them automatically? Or do you look at display lists being processed in an emulator/rom disassembly to search for images? The app that you used to convert images to targa is private?
Have anyone managed to get it work on emulator? Second circuit and multiplayer doesnt boot. I've seen on Youtube that they work on actual console
A big thanks to you and to Team Carrot for getting this out there for all to enjoy. Any hints on the what your remaining three undumped games are to get us salivating? As far as I'm aware this release only includes a single stage, the videos you've seen may be from the "more complete" version Black Sheep mentioned.
Amazing!! Thanks to the people involved in the release. I suspect some of the remaining undumped games are from Looking Glass Studios too... he he!
