So my friend picked up a 64DD recently. If he turns it on without a jumper pack, he gets an error that translates to "44: Jumper Pack may be left in n64 control deck." However, if he leaves the pack in the N64 and turns it on, he gets no video feed. Can someone enlighten us of this issue and how to fix it?
Funny. The jumper pak is used to terminate the RD-RAM (same stuff RAMBUS used back in the day for Pentium 4s) so you absolutely need *something* in there. Does he have an expansion pak to try out?
Sounds like you don't have the expansion pak. The 64dd won't work with the jumper pak. Word of advice the 64dd is very fickle when it comes to off-brand expansion paks. Buy a nintendo brand expansion pak so you won't experience headache. I also can confirm that U.S expansion pak works with the 64dd. Just realized ape answered whilst i was typing so my info might be useless.
He has the jumper pack, but not the expansion pack. Still doesn't hurt to try if the expansion pack works or not. I guess I'll update if he finds one and if it works or not.
Sorry, 64DD will not function as intended without expansion pak. You may as well have set a stack of $100 bills on fire.
