There's some shmup I played on the Mega Drive ages ago (well, mid-90s) and I'd really like to know what it was. Only thing is I can't remember much about it. Here's what I can think of now:

    - Horizontal scrolling
    - Possibly had simultaneous 2-player
    - I remember seeing a lot of blue. Maybe one of the levels early on was blue, or your ship was blue. Something was blue!
    - It wasn't in space.
    - Kinda organic looking stuff in it.
    - Might have been made or published by Sega.
    - Released in Europe. It was one of the earlier black crosshatch design cartridges.
    - I remember it being "really cool", but I was probably 10 at the time...

Please help me! I'll give a prize to whoever gets it right!*

*Prize may be only a photograph of something.

That might be it. Sounds like a stupid kind of name that I would forget as well.

*Plays it* (I did a baaad thing recently and got like 2GB worth of MD ROMs) - yeah, it does kinda suck.

    Damn you nostalgia! :angry

It's not so bad. I respect it for breaking the shmup mould at least.

... if you want a really ugly, dated vertical space shmup ;-)

Musha Aleste, now there's a fine verty shooter.

Nah, I think it was Crying / Bio Hazard Battle that he's talking about.

It definately is. Actually, it's not that bad. But kinda freaky. Not really the kind of thing you'd expect from Sega. My brother recalls not being able to sleep because the evil music got stuck in his head...

And it's nice to see an MD shmup with simultaneous 2-player for once - are there any others?

I wonder if this game is the reason Capcom had change their Bio Hazard to Resident Evil in the West?

Oh, and Alchy - Musha Aleste is teh pwn :smt023

Two player... Swiv and Aero Blasters, I know both have a two player option.

  13. The real Polybius?

  14. I actually played M.U.S.H.A last night for the first time in a while, and I must say it didn't leave that much of an impact on me. True, it is a older title, but I i'm for the most part a retro gamer. Anyways, I may be in the minority saying this, but I just don't think it has aged all that well.

Come to think of it, this night I dreamt about being in some sort of Half-Life like environment shooting headcrabs with a shotgun, and then I got bitten in the knee by some vile mutated rat... most odd.
