Very inspiring work, Parris! Looking beautiful. Someday I'll have the space needed for projects like these.
Damn Parris. People will start to form lines in front of your house just to play in your arcade heaven! Fantastic work as usual! ray:
Luckily, they no longer need come to me, they can go to the arcade, but more on that when the contract is signed! Thanks! ;-) It's time you bought an arcade cab I think, you appreciate them! I cannot take all the credit on this unit. Bernie (DrDread) from Arcade Otaku helped me out greatly. There is simply no way to work on such a large cabinet on your own without serious risk of damage to your own health or major parts! He also helped whilst discussing various ways the cabinet "could" have been put together. Useful to have another opinion and someone to sometimes say "Er, no that would be awful!" Howdy, you've been quiet! Not heard from you in ages. If you give me a call / send an email I can give you more details. I am not really wanting to put up too much information until the contracts are signed, but I think you'll be pleased to note that we might be getting a deal in Edinburgh too. You should come over and have a shot, or even just a look at the cabinets on launch night!
Would be nice if you got a deal in edinburgh as i'd definatly love to see some arcade cabs in edinburgh. don't actually know if there was any arcades in edinburgh and the only times i remember playing on cabs were usually when going bowling
I wish. Unfortunately i live in an apartment. don't have the free space for an arcade cab. Maybe someday.
I'll keep you posted if you wish? Most arcade units are located in shopping centers or within cinema complex these days. Amusement arcades tend to concentrate on slot machines and there are very few arcades even left in Scotland. What is needed is a bit of a revival with a twist, which is where we are coming in. You'll see soon enough!
Wouldn't mind being kept posted thanks. I've got nothing against them in bowling places, cinemas but i just hate seeing them in shopping centres as thats some place i don't think of arcdes being used. You really beat playing arcade game in their original cabinets because you can get some great arcade games plus your not sitting there using a joypad and in the case of some racing, driving or other games you get some amazingly designed cabinets.
Holy fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuudge. I am so very impressed! Definitely one-of-a-kind and better than ever!
Is that button layout comfortable? Just looks a bit awkward to me. Perhaps it's more suited to shmups, seems you have enough Sega cabinets for fighters in your house. I love those sit down cabinets, I believe trocadero has two running Tekken 5. Hope the screen doesn't produce too much glare. Quality job, hope to do something like this when I get my own place.
Button layout is same as on a standard Naomi CP - it's precisely the same button positioning. You can try it out by purchasing as Dreamcast arcade stick, it's actually exactly the same as that. In about 2 weeks time, I shall have virtually no cabinets left in my house. One of the Egret cabinets is currently running a Taito Type X2 motherboard and SFIV. Funnily enough, you mention the Trocadero, as that's the only other place in the UK equipped with official TTx2 and SFIV cabs. Everyone else seems to drop a console into a pad-hacked Naomi.
Actually the last two buttons on the Dreamcast arcade stick are in line with the middle ones, I own one of them. And yeah, trocadero have nice cabinets.
Ah, well, it's roughly the same positioning as the DC stick then - the positioning IS however precisely the same as a standard Naomi CP. This I know because I used one as a template.
