All power to the programmers, but the fact is that Chankast is useless in that it cant read original games. You could get a Dreamcast for free and burn all your games instead of messing with a dodgy emulator from back up images.
but once the emu works and looks better its an ideal way to make screenshots of an game. okay its an bit of an hussle to download al the games you have just to make screenshots.. but hey its an way
And it, nor any other DC emulator on a PC ever will... not unless CD/DVD drives for some reason are able to read Sega's proprietary technology, which they won't. The developers have their heads in the right place. The average DC fan can't rip their own games, and only the 8 with working devkits have a PC that can read them. Why even try bothering with it?
some people are bragging that they can buy dc games for almost nothing, well it's not like that in canada. there's almost nothing for dc on the shelves left, and pso 2 costs like 10 bucks that's not costly, but most crap sells for 10 or more. Most games are gone now except crappy games. I wish I can buy some steering wheel and vmu too, but there's nothing. Well, at least I got something most of u don't, a vga box, green case, keyboard and mouse, and i'm playing my dc on a acer 17" mon with panasonic tube and amplified 2 way intergrated speakers. Beat that. -Hokman
VGA box into my mates 50" plasma? or into my neighbours projector that like lives over at my house :smt043
... naomi games use some sort of encryption if i am not mistaken so it is not just a matter of ripping the game.
Err.... unless I'm missing something, reading a Naomi GD-Rom will be like reading a Dreamcast GD-Rom. You can't read it on your PC, and to suck the data off, you'll have to load up some hack into bios, and then grab it. Since the NIC worked for the DC, I would assume that would be the method of choice for the Naomi, except it doesn't exist.
