For those that don't know, Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier is a released 2009 PSP/PS2 game developed by High Impact Games. As the last entry in the series, The Lost Frontier added new gameplay mechanics to mixed critical reception. The first public traces of the game date back to 2006, as it was revealed that Sony trademarked the name. In the following year a voice actor and background artist leaked the existence of a Naughty Dog developed Jak game on PSP. Two mysterious videos of the dynamic duo popped up online in 2008. At the time speculation was rampant about it being a new PS3 entry in the series, but in actuality it was from Naughty Dog's Jak game on PSP. In IGN's Naughty Dog retrospective, the studio finally spoke officially about it: As High Impact was busy developing Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters and Secret Agent Clank for releases in 2007 and 2008, I imagine the studio was given the project midway through the latter year. The shift in developers may explain why the videos leaked. It seems Naughty Dog wasn't enamoured with High Impact's final product: These are the leaked videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=La5KPfEvAgo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rf9z6UNJnU4 It's been a while since I've played the completed game, but I'm not certain those sequences played out exactly like that. I can instantly notice that Jak's original voice actor is there. For whatever reason, the final release of The Lost Frontier had a replacement actor come in. I would love to see the content produced by Naughty Dog find its way to the public, but I guess Sony's ninjas would end that.
