NAVI GET 4 OKU (now with pictures) i've found that neat device which should help in lottery wins. as you already might have figured out by yourself, it quite ressembles to an other well known game device from the past. and yes you're right, there's nothing less inside than a wonderswan color hardware. everything, the screen buttons, fixing screw, contrast poti etc. are placed at the very same position. i will open it later on to watch the inside. hope that there's still a cart slot. btw. it's made in japan 2001, the WSC in 2000. probably this manufacturer (Nihon IT Contents) was looking for a cheap hardware to use for their NAVI GET 4 OKU device, and found out, that the WSC was already heading south, so they could get WSC devices for the cheap.
It's gotta be a clone meant to capitalize off of the Wonderswans likeness... As odd as that seems. The unit itself is of a different shape than the WSC and the screen bezel is a bit off.
sure it's not as nice as a wonderswan, it is also not supposed to be a WS. it's just a consumer electronic device which was desgined for helping you with callculating some lottery chiffres. and therefore it's also not a clone, since it just shares the same hardware, but very isolated from each other in purpose and usage. u may remember the Atari Jaguar, which found itself in a dental equipement after it headed south in gaming sector. it looks like the same.
just as I assumed, there is a full functionable WSC in it, even with the very same type of PCB as the one I have opened to compare (may there was just one version of it anyway). but to my very surprise, I have found a special cart in it, on which the NAVI GET 4 OKU software runs. just for fun I have exchanged the lotto cart with a official WSC cart (mr. driller). and this time, not so much surprised anymore, they run on both devices ;-) opened (l: NAVI GET 4 OKU; r: real WSC) taken out the lotto cart: PCB front side: exchanged carts: lotto cart front: lotto cart back: and now! power on with exchanged carts: :icon_bigg
great work tatsujin! this is exactly the encyclopedic kind of infos that i would like to see everyday! +rep!
I had the feeling it would be identical on the inside... or at least I really wanted it to be. Effing awesome!
Now post the lottery cart on eBay as "OMFG RAREZ!" before someone else sees this thread and does the same thing. heh. -hl718
The one good thing about this device is the fact it does have a proper battery cover, so I can imagine this thing is quite nice to hold. It's just a pity that the WS color is such a cheap machine nowdays. I've seen a few of the Navi 4 devices around but they have been in the 1500 (to 5000(!)) yen bracket.
in fact, this device would be a nice addition for any hardcore WS collectors. for any other people, it is just of little value.
