Hi, guys. I recently acquired an NDEV, but only two USB-to-NDEV connectors came with the box. Upon looking at the back of the unit, I noticed that three ports exist, and the Quickstart guide makes it sound like I do need a third cord. Does anyone here know where I can get a third interface cord? Is it something specifically made for the NDEV, or can I purchase it from anywhere? I'm a little pissed off, to be honest; I thought that I had received a complete setup.
There's nothing special about those cables, they're just bog-standard USB type A to type B cables so you can use any off the shelf cable. As a matter of fact you don't actually need all 3 cables to run the NDEV, 2 will suffice. The cable connected to USB (DI) carries the emulated code/data from the host PC to the NDEV, the cable connected to USB (COM) carries the instructions to the NDEV from the host PC (run/break/stop/etc) and the cable connected to USB (DEBUG) carries debug output from the game to a console window on the host PC. You don't need the third one to run the NDEV, but if you run without it you won't get any debug output from the game.
Thanks! I ended up finding a type A to type B cable in my basement, but it sounds like it's not crucial. Also, I've seen videos where the "Nintendo" logo on the front of the box is red, but my box has a gold logo. Does this indicate anything about the version of the sdk that I should install on my computer?
