Piratero mentioned owning one of these (or similar) in an old thread where I asked about RGB/BNC connections on old monitors.

I found these pictures today on my phone from late July.

This was at a thrift store, included inside a giant rolling stand/box (With scissor-lift style mechanism to raise the monitor out of the box to an appropriate level). They wanted hundreds of dollars for it. Naturally, I don't have ANYWHERE to put such a thing and don't feel like dumping that much cash on something just for the luxury. But it sure was nice!

    I think it's native res is 1280 x 1024?

Here's all the photos I took (should have taken more):

Anyone else have a beast like this in their setup? I would love to see it and discuss it.

Seems like an amazing thing to have around if you have the space and find one cheap.

Is that thing 37 inches? I have an XM29 Plus and can't imagine it being any bigger. It weighs over 100lbs and takes two people to lift. I put some smooth pads on the side to make tate-ing it easier. 37 inches is way too big. I'm actually trying to find something smaller than the XM29 as a backup just so its more manageable.

How much did they want for it? It may be worth it even if it is a few hundred. But you didn't specify. They take up alot of space, but it beats having to suffer with an HDTV.

    Yes, it was that big.

I think they wanted like $500 for it with the rolling stand/case.
I don't think it's there anymore. They might have marked it down the week after?

$500 might be a bit of an exaggeration, but $200-300 they are certainly worth. At 37inch, I wouldn't envy you for the transport though... my 27inch Sony PVMs already weigh a ton (about 60kg) and this beast is even bigger...

Could one of these display medium-resolution arcade titles like VF2?

We had a 33 inch TV when I was a kid, cost a fortune at the time. Was a complete bitch to move.

HDTV + Framemeister is just as good if not better because of the screen size. Just ask anyone who actually owns one.

If its the same as the XM29 it's a tri-sync and it can handle anything from 15khz 240p up to 1600x1200.

I'm certainly regretting not checking up on this unit every day until it was discounted and then buying it and stashing it away. I doubt another similar item will ever show up that conveniently.
