I have been wanting to try pocket nes for some time, but I am unsure of which GBA movie player to get. I see a red one on ebay, but which one will most likey work? I have no problems with pocketnes just the player
Get - http://www.hopebuy.com/\0001\0303\219201.htm Works as a GBA movie player...and as a GBA rom player...and plays GG, MS and GB roms I recommend it (I have the other gba movie player too but this one is better as it supports saving AND save states).
Would that cart you link to actually play gba roms ? that can't be possible for just 30 euro's seeing as all backup things like the ez flash cost 3-4 times that much.
please direct all movie advance player questions to me... Im an expert on the subject.. The movie advance player will play NES games... You dont want to get the all black one because that is actually just the older version of the red one... The red one is the newer improved version. It plays NES games... Though it wont say that.. It says it has FC game support, and can play .NES format games... IE, NES emulation... I have one for my DS and love it... You gotta have at least a 512MB card to enjoy it though.. With that you can store 2 full length movies at good quality, and a butt load of NES games... also when you first get it, you'll have issues with the encoding software, PM me when your having problems.. There IS a way to get rid of the hickups... remember that for the future..
Well it doesn't come with the compact flash card, which is where the data is stored. I suppose the fact that the flash memory is built into the carts of common flash linkers explain why they are so much more expensive.
Exactly I just use the CF memory from my MP3 player with it rather than paying waaay too much to get a cart wtih dedicated CF memory just for the GBA.
Question about this before I consider buying... my mate has a rather old model F2A cart, and as a result, it doesn't support a lot of the saving methods used in a lot of games, and his cart has quickly become useless. How does this thing fair in terms of supporting different saving methods? One thing I'd like to do is a 1Gbit CF or something and copy a few of my carts onto there, that way I don't have to take loads of different carts with me on the go. But if some games can't save properly, no good!
The cart has two seperate methods of saving. Firstly, it has a real-time save (think savestates in an emulator). Thats the one I use mostly. You save/load by holding down L+R+Select and A and then a lil' menu pops up. The alternative method is you save like usual in your game ROM (as you would on the original game) and then you press l+r+select+B and it brings up a normal save menu, where the cart writes a.sav file for your ROM (likeVBA uses to store GBA saves). Only game I've had problems getting to work was Advance Wars2....but I have FF Tactics, FF Dawn of Souls, Zelda Minish Cap, MArio + Luigi superstar saga all on my cart and had no problems with saving sofar :smt023 Hope that helps.
