Need for Speed: Undercover Beta Footage.

Here's a new one for you guys, it's a beta of NFS Undercover. It was first thought to be only a demo, but I was able to unlock the full version. It is clearly an early build of the game. The cars run into objects, and the AI is poor in general. The FPS is slow sometimes, and some races are displayed, though the road is blocked by an impassable barrier.

I use to play NFS. The first 1 was good but carbon sucks.

And, yeah I agree with you about the series in general, the first few were good, but then it went downhill from there
I got the beta because, well, it's a beta and they're interesting. I can't wait until the game releases to compare the differences.

Nice video and I noticed it says Need For Speed The Chase near the end of the 1st intro?? Was that an early name for the game or something.

 

I'm assuming that Need For Speed: Chase was the actual beta-title of the game, it is definitely almost 100% complete and was built in August '08, so it isn't any other version.

 

hmm could well have been an internal title used until they came up with a name and they just never got round to changing it but its probably just a beta title.

For everybody that likes to give this code a try, Google this: NEED.FOR.SPEED.UNDERCOVER_PROMO_FULL

To enable the full game you need to extract the image, open the config.txt file (_root) and change the following line: UseThisConfigFile: 1. Change the 1 to a 0 and your ready to go!

I have tried to download this from newsgroups with the intention of uploading it else where for others to enjoy. However they are too many missing blocks to recover with the par2 files unfortunately.
