I seem to have hit a wall in this game. I've been using the walkthrough on gameFAQs until now, but it doesn't help me at all with the problem I have. So, if someone here played this game and remembers, I'd be glad about any help. I'm currently stuck (for almost 1,5 hours ._ at the end of disc 1. Steve is trying to hack the computer Pachamama has shown him the pw in the diary and is now on the rooftop (where the spinning antenna is to be found) Julia is in the room with the power switch Katô is in the com room Lopez is being parked in the toilet wanking or whatever The guide tells me to... http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/354058/8282 However, I can't seem to find a way to "check the direction of the satellite". I don't know what satellite the author is talking about either, where am I supposed to check it? If I just keep on playing without checking the direction, I won't be able to use the walkie on the communication device (nothing will happen). What the fuck. This game is pure awesomeness in technical aspects and atmosphere, pure tension story-wise as well, but I HATE "walls" such as this more than anything in games. That's why I prefer arcade games so much to adventures and RPGs, lol. But still, I am very eager to complete this game whatsoever. I've searched google and there does not seem to be any other walkthrough for disc 1 than the one above. I'd be VERY grateful for your help, I know somebody here has played it (cez? hkfan?). :033:
I never got around to play the game that far but I found a strategy guide in Japanese (click) and here's the part that might help you: a) As Pachamama you should first climb one ladder and then another one to get to the rooftop and check the direction of the antenna (automated event?). b) Go down the ladder and to the upper left where you'll find a door. Use the key to get inside the communication room. When you're inside, pull down the lever. c) Change to Kato. Go outside, walk left and there should be a cliff you have to jump down. There should be a white antenna whose direction you should change to the south-east. d) Change back to Pachamama and progress as written in your quoted FAQ. The gamefaqs FAQ seems to leave out the part with Kato. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the help! It seems like there must be an auto event on the rooftop when you climb it w/Pachama which I haven't been able to trigger yet. Maybe I have to go with the power being switched on, I'd always done that before climbing the tower. I did Kato's part btw., but without checking the satellite first as I didn't know how to. I guess I'll just try to check the direction of the antenna again by climbing up there, oh damn you Aconcagua! D:
Rise from the dead for great success! I finally got around to play the game and just cleared that section. Here's what I did: - After Steve gets the password for the device he finds out that something is wrong with the antenna. - As Pachamama go up the two ladders to the first antenna. She'll (automatically) look up the mountain and say something about a region lying in the south-east (南東). - Whoever has the keys goes to the control room and turns off the power for the antennas. - Now Katoh can climb down to the other antenna which now doesn't move and go past it to the satellite dish. Push it to the left (=say yes on the dialogue) three times to also have it face to the south-east. - As Pachamama go back to Steve and click on the [!] on the device. That's it. This should now help you get past that point and finish the first disc.
