The one code that I could never find in this game was the Ultimate Kombat Kode that appears when you lose a match and don't continue (if you dont activate the cheat menu of course) In the 10+ years the game has been released, I have yet to see one magazine nor website acknowledge this missing link.

Recently, I have received an email from a MK fan who seen my post on other forum:

"Hi. It's about the Ultimate Kombat Kode in the N64 version of MK
Trilogy. I saw in a forum that you were looking for it. I am looking for
it too. I opened the .z64 rom of the game with an hex editor, and could
find out every existing kombat kode except the ultimate kombat kode (5
of the "classical" kombat kodes had never been released, but when I
discovered them I sent them to some video game web sites). However, in
the hex information I could retrieve the following text : - INCORRECT
CODE -..FROM THIS POINT ON......ENTER THE. ULTIMATE KOMBAT
KODE.....SMOKE AND KHAMELEON.ARE AT YOUR CONTROL.- GAME OVER - So, I guess that when you type the right kode, you get the message "From this point on, Smoke and Khameleon are at your control." The problem is, how
could we find this code ? Do you have any idea ? I dont know anything
    about hacking. Thanks !"

To be honest, I never thought about the possibility of hacking. Does anyone here have any knowledge in this skill? Or is this simply a sign saying the code doesnt exist. (I think its bad if Midway doesnt even know)

    thanks

It's possible the code doesn't exist and that's just a leftover string. What you'd have to do is disassemble the code, see what code references the string and then work backwards from there.
