Google brings up nothing, and no image matches. If it was from a contest it would be known.

My thoughts are it's a prize from a radio fund raiser or similar.

Hour of power being a radio show, golden member being donation level.

after reading that article you linked, that looks like a real possibility.

i think that "pocho hour of power" sounds like a real frontrunner....

i'm gonna try to get a hold of someone there and see what i can find out.

    thanks again guys!

The pocho hour of power was a bust.....
Received an email back from them stating they have never offered something like that,
And that it probably has a very interesting back story........

It probably does, that's what I'm trying to find out! Lol

But I think we might be onto something with the fundraiser, there is a fundraising technique called the " power hour" so,I will start looking into that...

    The search continues!!!

It's possible that the people who responded to your emails weren't around when this GBA was offered so aren't really in a position to state that it didn't come from them.

This is quite possible, KPFK holds member fund raisers 4 times a year (as the station is funded through donations, no commercials.) However, they usually give away books, CDs, or DVDs as premiums.

(I actually have a KPFK sticker on my car XD )

Also there is another show on the station called "Hour of power" which is different than the "Pocho Hour of power," I believe. Actually, I don't think the Pocho Hour of power was around in 2004.
