I have a friend that wants a PAL Xbox 360 and he wanted to know if if he uses it over there will it work out right, or will he need to do a conversion on it to work? Thanks
If he connects it to a modern TV by using component of HDMI, he won't have any difficulties connecting it
I didn't know if a PAL Xbox 360 would work in the states. No worries on the power, he gonna do a power conversion. Thanks for that wombat.
If it does have HDMI then it will be compatable. If not then a VGA cable will be the only other way you'll get a picture as most American TVs won't support PAL in any other format (Composite, S-Video or Component). Using HDMI or VGA, all games will run at an equivilent 60Hz signal, none will display a 50Hz image. A lot of Xbox 360 games will not display a 50Hz image in Composite, S-Video or Component and must run on a 60Hz compatable TV. With power, he can use a compatable US PSU as that would make things easier or if he is using a step up transformer then he should make sure that it is rated at least 300W otherwise he might find the fuse blowing on the step up everytime he turns it on.
I was just about to post this question. so he can use any NTSC power supply on my PAL Xbox. Thanks for that Jamtex
