Need help regarding Caps on Original Xbox

Hi all,

A few weeks ago I needed some 3300uf caps for a project, I couldnt get any so I stole some off my spare xbox console (3 to be exact.)

They ar the 3 3300uf caps which sit right next to the CPU, Now I want to get the system up and running again but can get any 3300uf caps in. I do have 2200uf caps @6.3v (the 3300's were 6.3v)

Will it be fine to use a lower uf cap on the board (until i can get new ones)??

element14 has heaps of 3300uf 6.3V Capacitors to choose from and are at great prices , i too am from Australia and element14's shipping is usually $13 its delivered by Toll..........you'll get the Caps about 1-2 days after it has shipped

All decent electronics suppliers should have them. You can get them sent next day delivery if you really need them that urgently. If you have a spare console, use that for now!

 

Yo can not lower the uf cap value, you need to replace them with the same uf value. You could go a little up in voltage bur not the farads.
