I put a VCD in my Panasonic FZ-21S1 (M2) and this is one of the screens that came up. I don't know Japanese, so I would appreciate some help translating. Removed picture from this post, but the one a few posts down is updated.
Okay, my Kanji is not magnificent, but let's go. L button - Return to previous L button - Go to Next Blue Button - Help Wheel/Pad (round grey thing) - Fast Forward/Fast Rewind Red Button - Confirm (or were those kanji Cancel...?) Lower Grey Button - Something about a control Panel Upper grey button, Green Button and Yellow button, Start, I can't read the kanji. Yakumo or GaijinPunch will know for sure. And the white section letters to the center left say that with the D button, "help" options come out on the screen.
a bit off-topic, but that controller is a complete rip-off! it looks like a 3rd party n64 controller.
See this link to a press release for the FZ-21S. My box is a FZ-21S1. http://www.tuvgm.com/3do/pages/5_11.php The FZ-21S is lightweight and compact - about the size of a notebook PC. Its "plug and play" capability allows for easy hook up to a standard TV monitor or LCD projector. It features a 4X CD-ROM drive (for playback of M2-CD, as well as VideoCD 2.0) and a PCMCIA Type III slot for use with modem, ethernet, memory, hard drive or other compatible PC card devices. In addition, it can accommodate various control devices such as a touch-screen monitor, trackball, PC keyboard, or mouse via two PS/2 ports and one serial RS232C port. Also, I have a PDF of the "Operating Instructions" on my website which has more specifications. http://sflynn.info
Yeah - also the Katakana below where it says PBC say something like "repeat off" and the second line says "OOTO" which I have no idea how to decypher.

Nope, the N64 was shown in spaceworld and E3 in 95, and the M2 that you see was unveiled in (i think TGS) 98. Anyways, so what if it the pad its a rip off of the N64 one? Everybody (sony, MS, all computer pads) rippedOff the Saturn analog thumb stick
Come on guys, help me translate this screen. I've got more screen shots that need translating on my website. Http://sflynn.info under the "all things M2" link. This unit is apparently a dev unit because of the mixed languages on the screen, but the BIOS appears to be soldered to the motherboard. I wonder how they would update the BIOS to the next revision.
knowing 3do they prolly just trashed the dang thing and built another one.....i remember seeing the m2 in an issue of next gen in 95...
OOto! Auto! OF COURSE! You rock, Purge! Yeah, under the white part (under the "video" icon and the letters PBC) in the upper left of the screen there's "repeat off" and "auto" written in Katakana
