Here's my list that I've put together so far. Looking to make a complete (or as complete as possible) collection of Sony video gaming. I'll post a duplicate of this thread in the WTB section, as I am looking to pick up the following. If you can add to this (minus colour variations) then please do post and I'll add it. List of all Sony consoles I need to get PS1 original grey PS1 10 million edition PS1 debug (aqua) PS1 debug (jade green) PS1 debug (blue) PSone w/ screen (mines in crappy condition, no screws or anything and missing screen) VCD white Yaroze stuff (box, cables, controller, disks, etc) DTL-H2000 PS1 Tool (board) DTL-H2500 PS1 Tool (board) DTL-H201A PS1 Graphic artists board PSX DVD remote PSX controller PocketStation PS2 Tool (in progress of getting one) PS2 Test PS2 external HDD PS2 linux kit PStwo (PS2 slim) PSP Tool PSP 1000 PSP 2000 PSP 3000 PSP Go PS3 Tool PS3 regular (Fat) ---------------------- And what I have Net Yaroze PS2 PS3 slim PSX PS vita So far, the collection needs work, but it is work in progress. Thanks! EDIT- added more. EDIT- specified PS1 dev boards
Some of these are pretty easy to get. Theres a 10 million edition on ebay (or there was about a week ago) but its not cheap. Theres also a seller that had the external hard drives (DTL, not SCPH) for $20, I got 3 from him. PSX dvd remote, Ive only ever seen one on ebay, and its the one I bought.
Besides that, the list seems complete? I'll try eBay as it's the best and easiest resource for the more common items, but I was really looking for someone who could offer a package deal with a bundle of the common systems. Alone they can rack up a cost that I'd prefer to keep to a minimum as so to save the money for the rare systems.
Well technically, the MSX computers that Sony did would count as gaming machines (and Sony did publish a lot of their own games for the MSX)... Unless you just mean specifically the Playstation brand... It also depends on how complete you want it, at minimum it would be one of each of the consoles (ie Playstation, PS One, Playstation Debug, Playstation 2, PS Two, etc...), you might want one unit of each specific model for example in Japan the Playstation has the SCPH-1000, SCPH-3000 (Removed S-Video), SCPH-5000 (Cost reduced), SCPH-5500 (Removed Video), SCPH-7000 (Cost reduced and had Dualshock pads as standard), SCPH-7500 (cost reduced) and SCPH-9000 (Removes IO port), if you wanted machines that looked different then the 1000, 3000, 5500 and 9000 would be the only ones you would want. There are also the various colour varients around the world too, some of these are likely to be expensive. There is also the Video CD playstation (SCPH-5903) which is white and very hard to find. It also depends if you are just collecting for North America or the world...
You can also add DTL-2000 or DTL-2500 PS1 Tool to the list. 2500 is now available on ebay by the way.
About the colour variations, atleast for the PS1 debugs, they come in 3 different colours, but they are different hardware revisions, so I'd guess you want all of them, right? Some rough figures from the DTL_archive (you can find the file in the Sony section somewhere): PS1 dev units: 5 models and 4 Artist Tools PS1 debugs: 4 different series, 12 models (including regional differences and trade shows units) Net Yaroze: 3 models PS2 dev units: 8 models (3 of those are easy to find, 1 is a bit harder, you shouldn't even think about the first 4) PS2 TEST: 7 different series, more or less 60 models (including regional differences and trade shows units).
Oh yeah, I've seen that. I'm looking into getting it. In general, thanks for the replies. I took a quick look at *insert name here*'s PS1development computer that he posted, so I'm now digging around for an old P3 desktop/server with lots of expansion. I guess I forgot to add the VCD model PS1. Duh. It would also seem that there is a huge variation in the dev units. That might be an issue for me, and I don't think (for now) I'm going to collect one of every variation. For the PS1 debug units though, I'll have to look into getting at least one of each colour. The different regions and models (if not colour differently) are going to have to wait because I can't just toss money left, right and centre now.
I started doing what youre doing; one of everything, but after a while I started to realize that I was not happy with the collection, and decided to make it bigger. I look for not just "a ps2 slim" but a color that I don't have, such as red. Need some inspiration? Best I've personally seen: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?15615-Sequent-s-PlayStation-Collection
Nice... Scrolls down WOW further... WTF. That's a seriously nice collection- colour variations on everything, complete boxes for everything... Wow. Yeah, I'd like to try and get to that rank, starting with the dev hardware and working my way up to colour variations (sounds like I'm working backwards!). Oh and Cyber I'll probably end up buying your dev board. You don't have the box, right?
I swear if I ever get so wealthy I start to consider having a scaled up chess board with living, breathing people for pieces (horse included) I'll hire mercenaries to lift choice collections and stash them deep in my heavily guarded, underground missile silo to protect them for posterity. Admission will be $10 at the gate. $5 for children and the elderly. These figures subject to change based upon inflation.
$10 for viewing the collection, or chess? Hell, I'd do the chess. Sounds completely worth 10 bucks, if not 20. EDIT- don't feel like putting out a new thread, and it's somewhat related. Is this worth it? $499 for a PS2 NTSC-J Pearl White, boxed. I offered lower just to see what would happen. http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/bnc/vgm/2900771356.html
it's a nice project you got going there good luck on completing it. there's always something to get regarding playstations my own little collection is just limited on the various revisions of mainly ps2's (though i do have a pile of ps1's, a psone and a yaroze) pretty much the only ps2 i don't have (not counting color variants) is a PSX DESR -.- aside that, got the phatty, a slim one(bot slim and the slimmer slim), one merged into a 22" TV (PX-300), one PCMCIA TEST (dtl-h10000) and 2 different TOOL's.
Jealous of the Tools... Did you say you've got the PS2 Bravia TV? I've been looking for that one recently. It's playstation hardware, and so far it's been hard to find.
