I ran into this girl and her last name was "Ii"

Does anyone know anything about that name?

She's from down by kagoshima in the sticks.

Ii ?? That is an odd name. Sorry, but I can't help there. She didn't happen to write down the kanji did she?

I don't have the kanji on hand but it was super complex
    looking.

She's rich as hell too. So old blood.

Most Japanese names indicate where they came from historically,
    or a background.

Sort of like how the term yamanote means "hand of the mountain"

You will no doubt get kicked in the balls for suggesting so, and ruin all chances of getting laid, but the name is very likely of Chinese descent, even though many generations ago.

cez is right, it's most likely 井伊, 伊井 or 飯 which are pretty standard names.

Apparently 井伊 refers to the feudal fiefdom of 井伊谷, so the name might be nobility.

If it's just "I" it could be 井 (also quite common) or 李, which is one of the most common Chinese family names, usually written "Lee" in English.

Apparently this dude has that name. I seriously doubt he woud've had such a high rank as a Chinese descendant.
