Hi guys, Figgured this is the best place to ask as i'm a little puzzled at the moment. Basically ive got a DVT4 here which came to me in its current state, it powers on and displays nothing on the TV, no sound can be heard either. When i press the eject button it doesn't eject the DVD tray. This is what i'm stuck with at the moment, i figgured i could have tried putting my recovery disk in, but i can't even get that far as the tray won't eject. Is this a result of someone using the wrong recovery disk? and if so, how can it be fixed? Cheers  EDIT: just a quick update for some further info incase someone can help, basically the xbox powers on, green light as normal, you hear the disks drive doing its usual stat up and all appears as normal but nothing on screen, and no sound at all. You also still can't eject the DVD drive, its almost like a coma console? don't know if this can happen on a devkit, and if it can, i don't know if you can get it out easily or not. Also if it makes any differences to anyones thoughts, the seals are intact and the unit hasn't ever been opened. Hopefully someone will have some idea whats up with it, its looking to me like a coma console situation, though ive never heard of it on the devkits before, though i know it uses the same type of TSOP so it must be possible... Besides this, does anyone know if i can bridge the points and use bank 2 of the TSOP? or could i boot the console with a modchip in place and use the recovery disk? Thanks for any help. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- OK well i went ahead and broke the seals in the end, i kind of figgured i'd have to, but i wanted to see if anyone could give me info on how to fix it without opening. Ive found the fault to indeed be a coma console, so if anyone else ever runs into this issue then its almost for sure going to be the same issue.
Were the DVT4 1.0 motherboards right? Well yes it sounds like its either in a coma or the tsop is messed up somehow, You could try this repair http://llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/ComaConsole.htm and then if that doesn't work you could buy a modchip and flash the dev bios back onto it
^ That's correct LEo. It's a screwed .BIN not loading properly causing the issue, iirc parris had the same issue, he sent the mobo away for repair (as shown in the above link), all was good afterwards. *edit* I've just physically checked an old 128mb DVT4 XDK mobo to check that the cap's and solder points were the same as retail and can confirm that they are.
Well I remember when I first got a dvt4 years ago it did the same thing as Dano's kit,all I did was take the whole kit apart and put it back together and to my suprise it worked.
