And not today's radio ''boom boom'' crap.

Classics are welcome, so is indie/underground. No rap or metal please (even if i like metal).

What i thought of so far:
    -Some beatles
    -Old Marylin Manson
    -The Postal service
    -Muse

"Welcome to the Jungle" is the best song to start any party.

Oh and if you can find "Katamari on the Rock" that'd be sweet, too. "The First Single" by The Format.

What kind of party is it?

What kind of party? The ones you listed sound like you're on your way to throwing the most boring party in history.

If you need some good techno I'd recommend the "Warriors of waterfalls" album by Atesh K. It's netaudio which means it's legally free and most songs are really good.

Would techno/trance be acceptable? If so, see if you can track down anything by Vibrasphere.

Not the ''we're rebel youth drinking beer illegally and smashing stuff'' nor the ''let's split up and find some bangable chicks on the dance floor'' kind of party.

Oh well, if you understood Danish. Then I would send you a ton of Danish 80´s music, since Danish music back then, was smashing.

If you like The Postal Service, I'd recommand: Death Cab for Cutie-"The Sound of Settling" or "Crooked Teeth". It's from the same singer. :)

Throw out everything and find some Andrew W.K. Start with "It's Time to Party" and then just listen to every other fucking song he has about partying.
