Hi all, I have a pioneer VSX-321 and a set of accent acoustics 100w bookshelf speakers(5.1 set with powered sub cost $1000). About 70% of the time I get a faint (but noticeable) kind of crackle noise, like a loose wire or dirty connection but I have checked all that.. I am using the kit speaker wire which came with the set (originally a Home theatre in a box, I dont use the crappy kit speakers) It doesn't happen as much on Digital optical when using huge files (5gb BR rips). Noobs just trying to boost post count need not apply (I have seen a lot of that lately)..
I can't think of anything that might cause interference, it only really happens at some high frequencies
A few ideas: have you tried using different speaker wires? Have you tested the speakers with a different amp, and have you tested the amp with different speakers?
The amp is 100 watts per channel, 6 ohms - guaranteed impedance of 6-16 ohms. I'm not familiar with that brand of speaker. What are the ratings and what is the frequency range? How are you driving the speakers? How do you have the amp set up? Have you checked the speaker cable and is it a good quality cable? And did you burn the speakers in correctly? The VSX has never been an amazing product range, but they're OK entry-level amplifiers. I can't comment on the speakers as I think they're an Australian-only brand. That, and the lack of a decent website, is a little concerning.
The speakers are 100w @8ohms I ran them in for a few months ad seldom have them loud (I live in an apartment).. I'm just using the 'kit' wire which came with the receiver
