I've been scouring the web looking for some basic info on the DC web browser "Dream Passport 3" (and of course the first placed I checked was segagagadomain) with little results.

Basically I'm just trying to find the publisher/developer (possibly SEGA?) along with the release date and whether it was sold seperately or packed in with Japanese Dreamcasts.

Any info from some DC expert's would be appreciated.

Afaik Sega deved the browsers for every region sans the US. PlanetWeb handled that one.

I did manange to dig up the Dream Passport homepage here which would probably have the info I need on it. Unfortunately I don't read Japanese.

Dream Passport 3 comes in 2 versions (one free with a DC and the other Free from Sega) They are both the same apart from the covers. Same goes with DC passport Premier (2 versions of that and both are PC/DC/Mac compatable). As for release dates I have no idea. I do know that Sega didn't make the browsers as such since they use an awful lot of other companies software.

Thank's for the input. I guess the two Dream Passes with different covers explains some of the conflicting info I came across.

One more question, would you happen to know which version of Dream Pass came packed in with the Sega director orange box edition?

Yeah Dream Passport 1 (box with many pictures on the back) and Dream Passport 2 with the other Orange box. All white Dreamcast boxed systems came with Dream Passport 3. Dream Passport Premier was sent to Club Sega members for free from Sega or you could pick it up for free from stores. There's also Dream Passport BB that is basically Dream Passport 3 but with a Broad Band title screen. Everything from Dream Passport 3 will work with Broad band.

Thanks again for the information Yakumo. While on the subject of DC browser's are you familiar with Dreamkey 1.0? While doing some research I came across a site that mentions a secret movie hidden in the Dreamkey.

"There is a little trick that can be used to access a hidden movie by opening the URL bar, delete what is there, and enter 'about:' without the quotes to view the hidden movie. It's possible there are other secret movies to be found but that's the only one I know of."

Would you happen to know what this so called secret movie was and if there were in fact other hidden items within the Dreamkey browser?

I actually have the PAL Dream Key disc as well. Hmm, I had no idea about this secret movie but to be honest it would be very simple to find if you rip the discs contents to a harddrive. I could do this via the coders cable I have but I heard it will take ages plus I don't know how to do it.

After you mentioned that, I went ahead an ripped the contents onto my harddrive. Couldn't seem to find any movie files, at least none that I recognised. What sort of file format would a video be that's located on a DC disc? I did manage to find some amusing pictures though.

I guess either the hidden video is just a rumor, or I just don't know what I'm looking for. Or it could be you needed an internet connection to access the video online, since it does mention using the url bar?

DC video images are normal SFV (or something like that, I can't remember right now) format. I'll have a check when I get home tonight for you.
