Haven't been by the site in awhile love the blue and white over the Red/Black look from before... anyway...

So just happened to acquire two of these units, each with all the hookups it needs. Wanted to know if I have anything special on my hands, though I know the basic info about it and watched videos. I just wanted to run it by the experts here in case I had an odd firmware version or something out of the ordinary besides a regular RVT-001 (more then happy to open it up if needed). Also looking for some info about how to get it to boot up some video (I am sure it needs something other then what I am doing with it). When I turn both of them on with composite cables it does exactly what is happening in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKdr0pEC1GI&feature=plcp except when I shut it off it makes that sound that you hear when you unplug speakers and stuff so I know its sending something to the TV i have it hooked up to, also tried the component cables it came with and no unplug sound so I imagine its set to composite video somewhere in the unit or maybe the DIP switches. I have seen videos of it being used with a windows PC to send it games over one of the cables it uses (retail dumps it looks like).

Just like with the other dev kits I have had (PS2 TOOL and a Dreamcast Checker and Katana unit) I just like messing around with these things to figure out how they operate before passing them on to someone who could use them.

I believe you need to get the software and drivers for it, or else no signal for you. Also, the NDEV plays a special formats for games in development. I don't think retail dumps work. Also, there is no hard drive in the NDEV so the games need to be streamed from a host computer.

Yeah, it won't output any video at all unless it's hooked up via USB to a computer with the drivers installed.
