I am hoping anyone here can help me with some psp troubles. i have a psp-1001 with 3.40 OE-A firmware and i download some game demos (ridge racer 2, full auto...ect) and i put them in the psp/game folder and can see them when i go into the mem card on the game section of psp memu with the the previews/pics of them but once i load them they don't actually load up and i get a blank screen which then i have to re-insert battery otherwise nothing happens and i can't turn off. normal UMD's work as i was playing Moto GP yesterday and game iso's also work as i have some iso's of games i already own (don't do piracy).
I dont know if this will help or not but you can try it. Some games (maybe demos to) dont work with the no UMD option turned on. For example the option in the recovery menu allows you to play ISO's of games on the mem stick without having to have a UMD in the PSP. Try turning this feature off and put a random UMD in the psp and try running the demos to see if that helps. Also there is another option in the recovery menu you might try, I think it called use plain files or something like that. Been a while since I messed with it. Anyways hope this helps.
the no UMD option was disabled and i tried running the several demos i had with Moto gp UMD and Toca race driver UMD inserted but no luck all i get is the white sony screen whenever you start up a game and then it goes blank without doing anything. I have the following game demos: Ridge racer 2, killzone, smash court tennis and full auto 2, they all do the same thing. I don't know if this will help but i am running them from a 1GB Sony ms pro duo memory stick.
i moved the demos from psp/game into psp/game340 and got some demos to work like ridge racer 2 but other still don't work.
change your kernal to 340 and put them into the game340 folder and it should work or mayber your firmware is too low
Its because you probably don't have the demos in their proper folders. If you got it like say PSP/GAME/RIdgeRacer2/eboot.pbp then you have the demos improperly setup. When you dl from a site, they should have told you or included a folder which is what the game must be in when its in the game folder.
When i downloaded the games i extracted them and they were in several folders but i only copied the folders with the following naming system "UCED90007".
Subbie is a expert in this area, why dont you link us to where you got the demos, then we can try them and see if we can get them to work on our units?
