I bought a broken AES like a year ago.
didn't have the time nor the soldering iron to fix it, untill now.

Now the problem, as i can discribe it, the screen is disorted with sprite blocks
no sound no image only white/grey'ish output for my television.

when starting it up without a game, it gives me a Blue screen, with square blocks at the bottem here and there.

any ideas if it's fixable or not?

The symptoms don't point to an obvious fix. Perhaps a high CPU address line, since it self tests fine, but nothing seems to work, right? A good place to start would be to comb the board for broken/corroded traces and reflow solder pads on the SMT parts and the cart connector pins.

oké thanks for the heads up.
but i'm not that good at soldering, still in my baby shoes, even though i fixxed a few consoles like the past month.
    felt so happy :)

I will try to upload a highres pic of the main board, but from the first look of it, seems like it never was used.

Anyway the scumbag I was talking about, was myself.
