Let me clarify. If you want RGB that actually looks as good as RGB should, you have to mod your system. The standard RGB output of the Neo Geo AES is really quite poor.
I have an early Japanese machine so the RGB quality is good. Although your clarification makes more sense.
Because they allegedly made bootlegs and passed them off as official. Here's their side of the story: http://www.ngfusa.com/extreme/plates/plates.htm
Hate to bump a rather old thread, but I read this post and couldn't stop laughing. I really have to hand it to you, you are the single most fucking retarded, straight up jackass on the entire site. Well done. You should consider doing something about your superiority complex.
Dion Dakis and Chris Ray of Neo Geo Freak are infamous in the scene. You could spend a week reading all the old threads over at Neo-Geo.com for a good laugh. Mr. Ray pops up every once in a while for a bit of entertaining banter over there. As for the RGB output, you just need to bypass the god awful Sony CXA video encoder chip on the Home Cart system motherboard and you're good to go.
I have a 50k Jap model and well if the RGB gets any better than what it already outputs (unmodified) then I'm gonna need new eyes.
