    Hey All,

Brand new here and I wish to say hello. Yesterday I pickup up the subject for $50 ( non-working ) of course and hope to get some help here. I am very new to the NeoGeo but will tell you what I know about my problem. When I plugged it in I got absolutely nothing. No lights screen or anything. Messed with some of the plugs on back on reset switch and fuse and finally got the markee light to come on and also a buzzing sound from the CRT. Mine is a single slot system and the power supply is a usp-11-150x power supply with the three connectors. I have checked and get 115V to the fuse/switch and 115V to the transformer supplying the CRT. But, I have no power whatsoever on the red/yellow/black wires on the one connector going to the MVS. I think I should have +5 and +12 here, correct. My biggest question is even if that part of the x-former is dead and no supplying anthing to the MVS should I still get anything at all on the CRT. I am willing to spend the money to buy a PS but just don't want to find out after that my CRT and or complete system is dead.

    What are your thoughts?

    Thanks,
    EZ

If you don't have signal for an image I don't think the crt is going to do anything, arcade crt is not like the tv that give you white noise, check the power supply maybe something is loose, if not that then is dead. Try with another.

OK.. thanks for the reply. I have read several posts here and there the R6 and R11 will go open if the fan fails. My fan is dead so this might be the problem. But, just curious do you know if 'part' of a power supply could go dead. Meaning that I have checked and get 120V to the CRT and 120V to the power switch/fuse but I don't have anything on the VDC side where I should +12 and +5?

    Thanks,

To tell you the truth I don't know, when an arcade power supply start to give problems I just replace it. If they where so expensive I might try to repair it but normally for $30 bucks I just replace it.
