So, you know how the jewelcases for NGCD games have this "Neo Geo" imprint on the front cover. I thought that all NGCD games have this, but I recently bought a couple of sealed games and two of them, Sonic Wings 2 and Top Hunter, did not have this imprint on their jewelcases. I have no reason to belief that these games were resealed, as they are in absolute pristine condition (I've already opened them) and I bought them from a mom and pop store that's closing down and clearing out stock here in Japan, not some shady internet seller from Hong Kong. Anyway, is it a known fact that not all NGCD games have the imprint on the case? And if so, how can I tell which game is supposed to have one, and which game isn't?
Yes it is a fact that not all come with the imprint. Perhaps it was a regional thing, or after a certain date. My release Fatal Fury 2 UK cd has no imprint for example.
i was reading however that pirate neo geo cd games tend to look exactly like their orignals, but the only way to tell the difference is a slight print difference on the disc itself (the manuals are pretty much exact just like ever anime does with square cds). But most likely its normal.
haha, none of my NGCD games have them... perhaps all the cases have been replaced? (I'm sure they are original, I bought them in Japan)
I'm nearing a complete US collection and in the main most of them have embossed cases but there are a few that i have bought brand new that haven't. I think it depends on what SNK had in stock at the time and how flush they were.
I've only got a game with imprint on it. But it has no manual, damn seller that didn't told me :-(. BTW it's Samurai Shodown I.
