GOD DAMMIT, MY BRO WAS ON SOME PORN GALEORE AND HE FILLED ME PC WITH SPYWARE AND CRAP, SO EVERYTHIGN IS GONE NOW , BUT I CANT GET RID OF THE DAMN NEO TOOL BAR, CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP MEH!!!!? :angry
Spybot will do the trick. I had that stupid bar on my PC from a Keygen site. Also check your Windows Temp file and Program files and you'll find some stuff called Winsync and Bull???? Something. Spybot must run on your system start up to delete these because they will be in memory otherwise and spybot won't be able to delete them. I tried Spy Sweeper at first but that didn't work. It said that it had deleted it yet it was still there. Yakumo
erase IE of your pc, but before , download Mozilla firefox. No pop ups, no spyware, no home pages that are sudently changed and can't be changed anymore, no messengers messages, no ads, nothing downloaded without your permission, built-in goolge toolbar, no toolbar that you don't whant,.... in conclusion: WAY better than IE, IE is complete crap compared to this. Oh yeah, somes are saying there's imcompatibility with somes websites when using FireFox.... that's lies.... i've never had any problems with firefox .... :smt043 :smt043
Do not delete IE, or Windows won't work correctly. However, download Mozilla, or Fire Fox, from here - www.Mozilla.org - Like Cahaz said, it is a trillion times more secure than IE. Once you have Mozilla, just don't use IE anymore.
well, i've erased ie of my windows pc without any problems next. you just have to go in the ''configuration panel'', then go in the ''add/delete programs''. after , click on ''configurate defaults programs" (...or something like that , i have the french version , so i don't know the exact english name. ) choose personalise, and then uncheck ''activate the acces to this program " for IE , then choose the program you whant to use (mozilla firefox?) and voila! you can now erase everything IE-related. (don't forget to download Mozilla Firefox before doing this! :-D ) the only (minor) problem i have is when i connect myself to MSN messenger and i whant to acces my new messages .... i click on them, but MSN won't let me acces them. i just have to open Mozilla Firefox and go to hotmail.com and the problem is solved. :smt023
i have firefox and i know is better, but the only thing i dont like is the bookmarks thing... ie has a much better line up... and i have ALOT of bookmarks... and about those files yakumo... i found like 20 on documents and settings/owner/lkoca settings/temp and like 5 on program files, i am gonna try spybot AND YES, IT WAS MY BRO!
you can import IE's bookmark from Firefox you know? and you can stil arange how your bookmark is displayed too. anyway , consider this. With Mozilla Firefox, your brother will be able to visit every website he whants alone and you'll never see your pc ''FILLED WITH SPYWARE AND CRAP'' . ;-) everyone will be happy, i think. :smt043
I hate fucking spyware. I've actually gotten pretty good at removing it. First disable the toolbar: In IE go to tools---> then Internet Options, ---> then Programs, There's a button called "Manage Add-ons" you should be able to turn it off there. Now stop it from loading every time you turn on the computer: Go to start---> then run---> then type : msconfig go to the startup folder and disable it on the right. This will stop it from loading up automatically. Restart the computer. It should not have started up automatically. You can check this with the Windows task manager (CTRL + ALT+ Delete) Go to My Computer---> control panel---> Add/remove programs. Delete it if you see it (half the time the assholes who make these things hide it from the add/remove menu, but you might be lucky and be able to delete it here.) You'd think you'd be done, but the problem is the scumbags who infect the internet with this garbage make these things impossible to uninstall on purpose, and there may be registry entries that need cleaning (else the program may "stealth install" itself again without your knowledge.) So you have to clean your registry. Don't mess with the registry unless you know what you're doing. It's a good idea to doa system restore point before doing so. go to start---> run---> type: regedit. Navigate down to : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Make sure you know what you're doing before you mess with this, do some research on the toolbar and see what registry entries it puts in so you know exactly what to remove. Usually Spybot or Adaware will clean the registry for you, but it's still a good idea to check it and make sure the job got done correctly. Good luck
Hawanja had a pretty thorough description, there are a few things I can add. *After trying to uninstall the program from the Add/Remove Programs dialogue box, go into your Program Files folder. If you're at all familiar with your computer, you should be able to easily identify any folders that don't belong to intentionally installed programs. Usually they will carry the same name as the piece of shit you're trying to delete, in which case you can just delete that entire folder to get any remaining files off of your system. If you're not sure what a folder's purpose is, take a look at the contents or leave it alone. Also, when deleting some spyware folders, you may find that small components of the offending program are still running, keeping you from successfully deleting the folder. A quick trip to the processess section of the task manager should sort you right out. *Get a nice little program called BHODemon. These 'helpful' toolbars and other shit that you pick up are called browser helper objects, and this rather helpful program helps you identify all the BHOs running on your computer, and choose to enable or disable them (just a temporary solution until you can delete the shit from your drive). *AdAware 6 is your friend. *Get yourself a nice anti-virus program, as virii and spyware seem to go hand-in-hand. I recommend AVG Free Edition from http://www.grisoft.com - free, excellent quality antivirus, updated at least weekly, and no strings attached. Norton could learn a few things... *Don't listen to these jokers who tell you that your only alternative is Firefox. It's ass and slow, not to mention that some of us have been using IE on beautifully secure PCs for quite some time now. If you are running XP, it is IMPERITAVE that you are up-to-date on all your updates, and have Service Pack 2 installed. A nice firewall can also help keep some spyware from sneaking on your PC. I haven't tried Windows' built in one, but I'm getting along swimmingly with ZoneAlarm's free edition. *Popup blocking software can also not even give spyware the chance to be installed (as I've found most of the crap that tried to sneak onto my pc was installed in some nasty ass popup from a crack site). The Google Toolbar is a good one, and the update to IE found in XPSP2 is also pretty good. I'd recommend having two running tho, as a lot of them set different rules for what gets blocked. I personally like the blocker provided in Avant Browser, which is an addon for IE that grants things like popup blocking, tabbed browsing, and mouse gestures. *Stay off the adult sites, you're much too young. So yeah, take Hawanja's advice, look at what I said, get some of the spyware cleaners Yakumo mentioned, and your 'brother' should be back to his regular smut browsing in no time. :smt023
jejeje i was messing around and no good just going to do a fresh install, remove internet explorer and go 100$ firefox , but will i be able to install windows updates? i do all my windows updates with the thing that apears in the botom left, right next to the clock
gsl all that crap got installed because of active x window.... i should have turn active x off... dumb me >_<, btw firefox is not slow is faster and better the only draw back is the bookmarks thing... but as cahaz said... you can actually organize them, so i'll just look around
Yep, you can do windows updates that way - Just not by going to windowsupdate.com. And as for ie, do what i do - It remains on my computer, but it only exists in the start menu, i keep it just for any sites which are incompatible with firefox (there are a few - Not many, but a few) and windows update via thee windowsupdate website. But get firefox - Best thing i did in terms of spyware removal/ popup blocking/ anti-crapping
The built in XP firewall is pretty decent if you have nothing else, does a good job of stopping pop ups, but also does some annoying things like stopping pics in e-mails from downloading. Of course, you shoudn't just rely on it as like all MS stuff it's chock full of holes, Zone alarm is pretty good (the professional edition that is) but I don't use it becasue it has a habit of screwing up my ping when I play games on-line. Also Zone Alarm is a pain in the ass to uninstall. Best bet is to have a hardware and software firewall going at the same time. If you use a router made within the last five years most of the time it's got a hardware firewall built in, as for software I use Norton as it's easy to configure ports, etc (the Zonealarm free edition is good, have it on my mom's computer, but I don't use it on mine as it's free version is rather limited in my opinion.)
zone alarm 5 is the suxX0rz will stop incoming and outgoing packages if i use bt "because it opens to many ports" :angry mcaffe firewall is the way to go
Gaahhhh! KAZA! You're just asking for a lawsuit. Not to hijack the thread or anything, but I haven't really been keeping up with the whole leagality of downloading issue, any news? Like is it legal or what? Last I heard the MPAA was suing random people left and right then somebody managed to stop them as it was discovered they got his personal information illegally from his ISP, but this was several months ago. I notice now the powers that be are using the media to put the idea out there that downloading is akin to stealing, which of course is complete bullshit. But this was several months ago, so I don't have any current news. Last I heard it was decleared legal in Canada (which in addition to free health care and lax marijuana laws, is yet another reason to want to move there. Now if they would all just learn how to pronounce "about" ...) Anyone been keeping up with this stuff? Becasue I've been out of the loop for a while.
