There's a very interesting thread over at the Neo Geo forums regarding the missing NGH#s. It is quite an old thread but it has some very interesting information. It also has links to a couple of other proto threads. Although one of those is maaaaaany pages long and full of 'T3h Drama' Anyhow, seems that Ninja Gaiden 2 could have been headed to the Neo! And it would also seem that someone in Singapore not only found an MVS Ironclad proto, but then had it converted to AES! Personally, I'm only really interested in Ironclad, Karate Ninja Show, Last Odyssey and, if it did exist, Ninja Gaiden 2.
I was reading that topic... And they said NGF was raided by the police, and for a second I thought they meant NFGman who runs GameSX. They're totally seperate, right? Also, has the FBI really seized prototype games off people, and then sold them on afterwards? I tired going through that thread, but had a bit of an information overload. Nice thread. "Fascinating" would be an understatement. EDIT: Oops... A quick search tells me that NGF stands for NeoGeoFreak.
Yeah, NeoGeo Freak, aka Dion Dakis and Chris Ray. Not exactly the most loved people in the Neo scene. I've no idea if the Police would have taken all SNK stuff in the raid as evidence or what? But still there's much speculation over whether Dakis did have any protos. I suppose it's very likely, considering the contact he had with SNK. But this proves that there must be a fair few (considering) MVS loke test copies of Ironclad kicking around in the world. Most of the other games on the list had loke test too, so that means thee must be a reasonable number of each one. Would it be possible to find out where Ironclad had loke tests? Would these tests have happened outside of Japan, maybe in larger arcades in the US or UK? I'd really like to see all of the Neo protos found and released. It's just a pity everything on NG.com attract such drama.
