Hi Guys, Im a HUGE fan of the Evangelion... but even tho my Derby Stallion Saturn is my most played console in my house, ive never got into the games... is there one thats better than the others? or should i skip the saturn games and go for the new ps2 one? )

N64 one is great but gameplay (like most N64 games) is slow as hell. I was an Eva fan in 1998.. I guess. Now adays I despise anime
. i'm old boy grow up watching Mazinger Z on telly and later one kidousenshi Gundam. I actually watched entire Mazinger Z on telly and then Great Mazinger followed but short few episodes where Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger reunited again... I'm still looking for those episodes for many years but haven't found them yet... no I was too young to catch tetsuwan atomu... For strange reason I never watched a show although read manga... missus told me they run new series of Atom on telly nowadays. I've watched entire episode of Evangelion and bought the DVD with missing episode or something... IMHO it's too depressing actually for my taste... I'd much prefer senseless violence with clear cut good and evil... cheers
mazinger z rulz ^^, i have the episodes, but they are in espanish yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, ok. so, wanna buy the ps2 evangelion game?, guess what, i have it and it sucks. yes, it sucks, you need to know japanese in order to play it, well.... is good but you need to know japanese , you go around nerv,house,nerv bathrooms,nerv caffeteria,nerv offices,store, school, etc. yes , you walk around all those places and the game follows the story. in the angel fights you only see like a huge plataform in green with a green looking map of the city, you see where the angel is and you have to run towards him, but remember, you have an unbinical cable so you better unhook it and hook it up on another energy station , when you get near angels, you have to run behind them and kick them in the arse , *all this happening in a green map with 2 dots , then if you hit him you will see an awsom cut scene :\.......just buy the n64 one... is alot better. :snipe:
that sucks man.. sounds like some lazy dev house rehash old Robot Taisen with Evangelion cloth on it.. ;p I loved Super Robot Taisen as it's packed with all the super robots I grow up with... he he... cheers
As far as i know there were 3-5 saturn games (well games 1-2 games and 3 interactive galary thingies). The famous and often verry verry expensive n64 game. There are severeal dreamcast games (mostly dumbass typing games where you need the dreamcast keyboard) and 1-2 PS2 games and that's about it. The only one worth playing is the N64 game.
As far as I know there are 4 Saturn games - NGE - Girlfriend of Steel (Iron Maiden) NGE - 1st Impression (and re-release) NGE - Second Impression NGE - Digital Card Library Then there are like 2...maybe 3 Dreamcast games? Two different Typing ones and one where you look after Rei or something. Then there are 2 new Eva PS2 games, a remake of one of the NGE typing games from teh 'cast and a Super Robot Taisen game with Evangelion scenarios in it. Normally I would try and defend my gaming honour ^_^ But I know I suck at fighting games to start with....but I still find it even beyond my bad skills to dodge the attakcs of the Angel in the second mission. I hit B as soon as I see its tenticles begin to move but I can never block it ¬_¬ Plus my AT Field takes way too long to recharge. Oh, and chances are I'll not sell it for a long time ^_^ I may hate the main story mode so far...but I know the later missions are different so I might like them if I ever pass the second Mission. Plus the training room is pretty cool ^_^ Position, Target Center. Pull The Switch! :snipe:
Ah, I thought you meant the first Angel. I've played it a bit on emu as well, and had that same problem with Shamshiel too - it seems the AT fields only come up sporadically. I passed it off as emulator problems and haven't messed with it since. So if it makes you feel any better, you're not the only one. :smt023
I'm going to give it a good play through when I get back from Japan No time to do it at the moment.....got my Psychology Final exam tommorow and then busy partying in the evening ^_^ Then I'm busy all weekend and leave for Japan late monday/early tuesday.

I liked Evangelion a lot, some years ago it was my favorite anime. The serie is great and the movies too. About the games and for fans I really recommend Girlfriend of Steel, Digital Card Library and Evangelion Second Impression (a game "make your own episode" style with even a new character), the game for N64 and the Ayanami game for Dreamcast.
A ha!! So that's why my copy has a different cover than the ones I saw on a saturn covers website! Can the NGE experts help me identify which version is mine? My cover is different from the one I posted above. Are the back covers and cd label also different in both releases?
