Provided it translates the n64's original detailed stick movement I think I m sold. I m tired of having to play MarioKart 64 with potentiometer-based analogue sticks - they're too loose and the car spins much easier.

For 20USD now all I need is a matching acrylic white n64 controller :eek:h:

If it's like most of the converters, the latency will kill the gameplay.

Considering how the GC/Wii has built-in support for the N64 control pads, as demonstrated by one of our members sometime last year, I m assuming that this is the trace path that's used for this adapter - ie, no transcoding necessary, just good old electrical mojo.

What would worry me is if the emulator doesn't support native n64 controllers for some reason, ie if it's optimised to be used with the Classic/GC pad - which in my experience it isn't else I wouldn't even be discussing this!

    ????

Super cool. I like the classic controller, but recently I packed up the N64/SNES/NES in favor for Virtual Console and sold off the games I could get on it. Loving it so far. I'm a player more then a collector. Also get to play stuff I've been wanting for awhile without paying a ton.

How would you NOT need to transcode the NES/SNES to work on the Wii? Are there little elves throwing switches and pulling levers inside the box?

I m mostly concerned about the N64's pad, considering its vastly different analogue stick. With regard to the other two..well there's an official/club nintendo JP SNES controller a la Classic controller (hooking through the wii remote) and for the NES i don't mind using the Wii Remote, as long as it's not anything like track and field.

Agreed. I just got my own Wii earlier today, ( although fellow forum member Drew has been kind enough to let me borrow his Wii for the past week:icon_bigg), and i havent tried any actual NES games, i have been playing Punch-Out for the past couple days, using only the remote ( no Wii-mick controls, remote-only makes it control just like the NES Punch-Out), and its more than functional.
