I added an av mod to my nes top loader but wasn't happy with the results, I still saw jail bars. So I decided to get the video directly from the chip, but now my image is distorted and scrambled.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need the amp, but that looks like you have other issues.

Which mod did you use? The GamesX one, or the Console5 one?

From the picture looks like you broke some traces right by the 21 pin of the ppu.

I did an av mod on one of those console yesterday without a problem and that distortion look like other issue and not the mod.

Looks like I did cut the trace on pin 21, thanks Pikkon. I was luckily able to bypass it. Now it works perfectly! Thanks!

    I built the amp, and i used this mod(method 2) http://www.retrofixes.com/2014/05/nes-101-toploader-av-mod-instructions.html

    Glad you fixed it! :)

I've merged your double posts - try to either use the edit button if you want to add something and nobody has replied... or the handy multi-quote button (bottom right) if you want to quote more than one post ;)
