Wow never again 47 caps and it must be the USA air the solder just didn't want to melt or suck into a pump (USA Air oxidisation), it wasn't hard but was a real pain in the butt to do.
never am I going to attempt a cap change again, but WOW was it worth it.
Original Caps where cheap ass Rubycon caps I replaced with slightly better dearer Panasonic M series and wow the CDs load faster and a few of my owned backups that didn't load are now loading.
Funny issue though when I completed it, I popped in a CD and nothing and got worried so left it on and went to watch TV. Came back to nothing and reset the machine and everything was running 10 fold faster. stupidly I forgot, the caps are NEW so needed a chance to charge up and settle down.
Now I have a fully sooped up Sega System. Originally NTSC, Sega Genisis 2, Sega CD2, and Genisis 32X. Genisis2 is Switchless modded, the 32x is also switchless modded via the mono pin, and Sega CD2 has Jap Bios on a socket, battery changed for original ML2016, all 47 caps changed and a blue drive LED.
And to sweeten the whole system it has a lovely friend, A Mega Everdrive
Last thing to do but waiting on delivery is a 3Amp 9V PSU which im going to open up and mod for 3 way power, it will have a dead switch to kill the PSU at the 240V line and then each of the 3 PSU cables will then have a switch to turn them on and off individually with a 3mm indicator LED and also they will each be independently fused to prevent shorts.

    I cant be more happier

LOL, it's just old solder. Try adding fresh solder beforehand, that really helps when desoldering.

Yes and it also helps get rid of the corrosion that bad caps leave

Silver solder, awesome stuff, helps to lower the melting point a bit too.
