Pretty cool video, dude. I always love seeing Rareware stuff like this.

I still find it amazing that this game eventually wound up turning into Bad Fur Day.

Wow, incredible!! Thank you again for sharing these videos! :) I think most of this is probably brand new to people. Very cool to see what the game was like--looks fairly polished, actually.

Mister IOnEI Falcon, I do not know who your are, but I think I speak for everyone when I say that you sir are fucking awesome.
In just a week you have managed to shed a crap ton of light on two of the most searched/beloved/whatever_the_hell unreleased/altered videogames for the N64 and probably of all time.

I've seen this only happen once or twice before, when for example back in 2009 we got Virtua Hamster and X-Men for the 32x, two games we had no footage of and we got two full working ROMS.
In my pathetic, nerdy life I have spent a ton of hours going through forum posts and threads, talking to friends, reading magazines from the past to find out about unreleased video games. The mystery is what makes this special.
THANK YOU SO GOD DAMN MUCH, YOU ARE NOW OFFICIALLY A LEGEND :D

Nice to see what Cbfd used to look like. Big fan of that game(cbfd), quite glad they decided to chuck c64 out the door, but nonetheless nice to see it.

Wow, I can't believe I can finally see more of the game! I looked forward to it so much when I was younger, this is like a dream actually seeing this much of it. Thanks so much for sharing it! And to whoever made it. I'm assuming it's from someone who owns a prototype anyway...? The fact it's never stated like with the Dinosaur Planet video would seem to suggest so, anyway.

If so I'm always available if there's ever any chance to help this thing get into public hands. I'd definitely help with the money. Thank you, mystery source! :)

Ha, I used to play Conker's Pocket Tales on the GBC back in 1999. I remember seeing some Conker 64 photos and thinking it actually existed on the N64. It was years later I learned about CBFD, in fact I was kinda shocked at first haha.
Definitely glad we got CBFD instead of this though.

Very reminiscent of Banjo gameplay. If it were released as such it would probably get immediately labelled a Banjo clone and overlooked. Plus, the sugary bubblegum wrapper probably drove the devs nuts.

I love the story behind the development of CBFD, how at first it was this innocent little kiddie game, then turned into a self aware mature game where you can piss on other people to kill them in multiplayer mode. Amazing, thanks for the footage!

Totally stole that from Doshin 2.

Seriously, what kind of console has two games like that?

Thank god RARE took this game in a different direction. BFD is one of my favorite games.

This is almost a sad video to watch knowing this is an unreleased lost game. Its really brilliant in its character and level design. Just look at that level where conker is exploring the huge dinosaur bones! The levels were massive. And the music is fantastic. I could go on and on but this would have been one of the top N64 games if it did ever get released. Just from this video its a far better game then Banjo was IMHO.

The team working on this must have been devastated when the word came down what was going to happen to it. It looks like it was all scrapped except for the engine and character models (including word balloons). Also seeing how big this game is it makes me think that BFD was a much smaller game environment wise. As good as BFD is maybe it was rushed in development and put together quickly.

Thanks to whoever released this video!

Eh not really, it doesn't look like that great of a game. Thank god they changed it to CBFD.
It was a team decision to change the direction of the game, what are you babbling about?

As far as im aware the team working on this stayed to work on CBF, so yeah there might have been a little remorse for losing a chunk of work, but like f2bnp said it was a team decision because the game wasn't really getting any attention beyond "Rare comes back with more of the same". They could have gone ahead and released it but the team wasn't content with more of the same, so they retooled it. It's not like say Core working on Tomb Raider Anniversary and then getting the sack and watching Crystal Dynamics take the basis of their work and continuing from there, eventually selling over a million copies whilst Core shut down. That would have been devastating.

But back to this, its cool to see where it began but i'm kinda with f2bnp, it looks kinda boring. I realise it's unfinished but it really does seem like a watered down Banjo. It'd be nice if it got out and we could play around with it sure, but i'm so glad they retooled it and we got BFD instead.
