Does anyone like this sort of thing? How long til we get a PSX in a pad? http://www.firebox.com/?dir=firebox&action=product&pid=1001
Best part? That joystick is in fact a fully functioning C64. If you wanted to, you could in fact hack it open, mount C64 equipment on it, etc. I'd be willing to bet that someone will start selling "new" functional C64s built around that chip soon...
They should sell these things with original cartridge slots intact. Like that Atari 5200 wannabe thing that Best Buy is stocking 8 bazillion units of. Is it THAT HARD to put a cart slot on it, w/the backwards compatibility, and make it a fully functioning VCS/5200? that'd add, what, like $10 to the price? I think thats worth $10.
Seeing how I already own most of those games (and yes, Super Cycle is a blast to play!) this would still be a worthwhile purchase simply due to no more long floppy load times and a better quality picture from the get-go!
Ok...I know we just totally had a topic about these things...in fact, you poseted in it, XerdoPwerko...anyhoo, that commodore stick can be hacked to use keyboards and floppy drives....
Here are some pics of the insides. http://www.jbrain.com/vicug/gallery/c64dtv and here is the site for the person (from what I've read) who came up with the C64 on a chip. http://c64upgra.de/c-one/
I bought one for Christmas, and we also got my brother one. I haven't given it much playtime (maybe a few hours), but it's pretty fun. Granted, the only thing I've really played on there is Winter Games...
