http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3156904 Holy shit...I mean, people have been waiting for this for quite some time, and we finally get a awesome Castlevania collection. Ports of Symphony of the Night AND Rondo of Blood, as well as a 3D remake of Rondo...Man...Thats just...Man.
I was able to "obtain" a copy of Symphony of the Night, and convert it for use on the psp, and I was very impressed for never having picked up a Castlevania game This will certainly be one the best games headed for the psp this year! Ryan
The Neogaf guys were right. Holly crap man. I mean sure a 3d remake of rondo sounds cool (i think it might suck) but freaking hell, They are also throwing on the original 2D game as well as SOTN on the same UMD. Jesus tap dancing christ. GO KONAMI -edit- I am sorry but I take that back now. I just saw the video on 1up and holly shit even the 3d version kicks serious ass. I hope this sells fenominaly well and other companies start doing this to their old 2d games.
Shameless plug, I have a PSP for sale check market place forum. ;p Honestly though I am thrilled the game will finally come out here, though I hope ilke GTA:LCS, it gets a PS2 port. I prefer to game on consoles.
that price is unfortunately far higher than the one I m able to pay for, for a gaming system that isn't going to have my primary attention - and the fact that it's a TA082
I've been waiting for this for so long, it seems unreal. I am so happy! It'll be the first PSP game I'll have bought in ages!
I'll play devil's advocate: The 3D update looks like shit. Yeah, you can play it while you drive or whatever, but really... this game is meant to be played on a nice big tv/monitor w/ a proper controller. I'm taking a somewhat bashing at shmups too for the same argument, but c'mon... just buy a fucking PC-Engine. It's a great system to have.
Only problem is that anyone outside of Japan has a hard time getting a copy. It's not super rare, but it is far more expensive then a PSP and a copy of the game in most cases (Plus, its in Japanese). Got to agree that the 3D needs a little bit of polish, but it looks like the game is still in the very early stages of development (Boss sounds not added yet, plus the animation looking a bit sketchy). Still has half a year left in development, from the sound of it.
I got agree with jasonkhowell on this, its alot cheaper to buy a psp with this game then actually buying the game, buying a pc engine, and the cd rom add on. Plus you get sotn and the original version in one package.
My solution to this for people on the cheap is this: buy chi no Rondo for roughly $100 on ebay. Buy Magic engine for $18 if you don't have a way of playing it. Sell Chi no Rondo back on ebay for basically the same price. You could even sell it on a web forum to save some bucks. Magic Engine you should keep, but you could probably sell it as well too. You can basically play the game and break even. What's going to happen when you buy the PSP version of Chi no Rondo? You buy it for retail. $40 + tax/shipping if you get the domestic one. More for the import. What happens to the value? It drops, immediately. You can play the original on a nice, bigass screen w/ a real controller for realistically, the same money. You just gotta put a bit more up. (PSP would cost me more -- I ain't got one). For me, it's a no brainer. Handhelds = the devil, even though I own a DS. There's not a lot of text in the game anyway... completely playable for the non-Japanese friendly. I understand some people can't put up $100 for a game. I think this is a painful hobby for someone in that situation though.
I have a 1.5 non-ta082 but the price I'd want for it would be slightly higher. My brother is interested in getting my 1.5 PSP, and he wants me to try to sell his 2.71 ta-082 PSP for as much as I can get and he'd make the difference up. But it sounds like if it's far higher for the other one, I don't think 1.5 would make it suddenly the right price, but if it does let me know. ;p A. Snow, me too. I really hope ike GTA LCS it just comes to PS2. PS2 is where it should have come to begin with.
I'd prefer the portable version as I spend a lot of my day traveling, and being semi eco-friendly, I only use public transport. Thus, for me this will be excellent to have on the go
You guys do know that you can now mod even the highest version of firmware and it DOES NOT MATTER if its a TA-082/086 model. Theres not a single psp out there now that cant be hacked thanks to Noobz team. You have to have a unpatched LCS to do it but its all automatic and easy to do. You can downgrade or go to 3.03OE if you want. Theres no diffrence in a modded old psp and a modded new one now ^^ Also this game does look awsome and I am going to reserve it when they start taking preorders (if they do 0_o)
From what I hear if you put enough effort into it you're right that you can have a modded 3.03OE. But still having regular 1.5 is nice.
