Haha, cool find!! <conspiracy theory> The words in the larger font are all five characters! C O O L [thumbs up] P R I Z E D A I L Y </conspiracy theory>
Many businesses here use the GTA font too. They could of bought the license to use the font for the promotion, by all means they could of stolen the font but a large company like Coca-Cola wouldn't get away with it.
It's a free font called Pricedown, so nobody is getting sued for using it. Besides, The Price Is Right had the same kind of font way before GTA :witless:
As said the font is called 'Pricedown'. It's designed by Ray Larabie based on the font 'Pinto Flare', which is used in the 'The Price Is Right'-logo. The font is freeware. Rockstar started using the font on the box of GTA III. First they wanted to use a urban/grimey font with the '3' being outlined in orange. However they later choose to use another font (in this case Pricedown). Ray Larabie did work for Rockstar (in particular Rockstar Toronto) as a designer for Max Payne and the GTA-series. One of the things he designed were the vehicles in GTA: London 1969 and GTA 2. But he quit in 2002 to focus on typography design.
Oh. I thought this was going to be about classic "New Coke" ads. It's not a stretch for fans of retro games to be fans of retro colas too, right? :topsy_turvy: p.s.: New Coke sucks. So does Coke II... OK Soda: surprisingly "OK"...
I didn't mean to have OK Soda bold. lol I lived in one of the few cities where OK was test marketed. It was...ok.
