Korea is much more advanced in things like these. Samsung now have a no dead pixel policy on their LCD screens there!

For the record, my PSP doesn't have any dead pixels, and I've never even personally owned an LCD with dead pixels (Dell Laptop, Dell 19" Flatscreen LCD, GB Pocket, GBC, GBA, DS, or PSP). Maybe I'm just lucky.

Unforunately I have not been so lucky. I'm on my 2nd PSP, the first one I was able to exchange. This one has a small line of dead pixels, but they are not even noticable. Also my desktop LCD monitor has one dead pixel, that is very noticable. I bought both these through retailers that didn't offer an extended warranty, so I am basically screwed.

I understand that the process of making LCDs may not be perfect (although LCD tehcnology has been around a long time), but it sucks paying hundreds of dollars for something that is defective.

My lappy on the other hand is perfect (knock on fake wood). :smt023

Ive had 2 sony ericsson mobile phones a P800 and a P910i i have now. They both had one dead pixel.

Ive got a perfect psp however. Ive also had two dell 20.1" widescreen monitors. One had a dead pixel and the other was perfect. (They were shiped at the same time).

Dead pixels just cant be avoided.

Just how hard is to see one in a PSP? Ive a LCD, a Palm and other LCD stuff and none of them has a dead pixel.

The problem is that im no buyin one, a friend of mine is buyin it for me, and hes not exactly a techgeek, so he way have some problem checking for dead pixels in the PSP.

Does anyone has a photo of a PSP with dead pixels?

Yes they can. I've never had a phone with a dead pixel or a PDA or a LCD Monitor or a pocket TV or a hand held game system (Game Gear, PC Engine GT, Nomad, DS) but then again none of those are by Sony  My Mitsubishi 17" TFT does have a funny pixel though that shines blue and not black. You can't even notice unless the screen in that area should be black. Still, that's not dead, just faulty :p

Yes they can avoid dead pixels just pay twice the price. I also had a palm tungsten 3 that i took back to the shop due to a stupid dead pixel in the centre.

Some guy i know had one of the first m505 (circa 2000) color and it had a dead pixel in the upper left corner.

The thing is, does anyone has photo of a PSP with a dead pixel?

AnalogWinter, could you take a picture of your PSP? [since you say it had a row of dead pixels] Ill could send the photo to my friend so he can recon the problem

Actually Yakumo, that is what is referred to as a "dead pixel." Any pixel that is stuck on or off is a dead pixel. Depending on the color of the pixel (or if it is off) it can be right easy to ignore or terribly annoying.
