    Hey Guys

I was playing Assassin's Creed 2 last night and noticed the same thing I notice with every game and that's the same awkward motions of the characters. It looks like there's been no improvement from the first games ever released on the XBOX. Characters still do a spinning moonwalk when you turn to the side, they bump into each other, the face ticks and movements seem unnatural, their clothes stay stuck to their bodies, etc. I'm not expecting perfection but there doesn't seem to be any improvement in this area. Maybe the graphics are better but the physics seem far away.

Do you think that will improve with the new consoles? Or is it just me? Or both?

I would hope they could improve it. The 360 & PS3 don't have a lot of ram, so the devs have to take shortcuts they might not have to take on the PC (except they do crappy ports to the PC so you get the same problems). The next generation have considerably more ram, so hopefully the programmers can take time to polish up engines to keep such things from happening. But the truth is, most the developers have learned to program under these low ram consoles and might not have the talent/knowledge to actually make better game engines that can take advantage of more ram and a better GPU. Not sure if the CPU is faster then before, but has more cores, so if the devs have learned any multicore programming yet, it's possible.

I'd wait till they put out the new consoles and play some games and see whats up.

I suppose I'm just looking for more realism with the little things. It's been happening for so long I didn't know if it's a problem they couldn't get around or if they were just putting all of their energy into the scenery.

PC games are already significantly more realistic than console games. Just look at games like Bioshock Infinite or Far Cry/Crysis 3. The difference is pretty noticeable - if you have a fast machine, at least. PC games can make use of things like ambient occlusion and tessellation, which current-gen consoles are not capable of. The first next-gen games will probably look like current PC games, as is usually the case. It'll take some time for developers to learn to fully utilize the hardware, although theoretically it should be faster this time, since they're x86-based.
